About
Lyon Arboretum Archaeological Inventory Survey
The Society for Hawaiian Archaeology Student Committee (SHASC) is conducting an archaeological inventory survey at Lyon Arboretum in Mānoa Valley, beginning in the 2007 Spring semester. The main goal of this project is to provide the Lyon Arboretum and our local community with a reliable report which will ensure the protection and longevity of the archaeological sites present, while at the same time educating our students and community in non-destructive archaeological methods.
This is a community-centered project, and so we welcome volunteers from all ages and backgrounds. This website contains information about the project, and gives community members an opportunity to comment on our work, make suggestions, and discuss Hawaiian archaeology.
